Meet Tony
Friends,
I want to take a few short moments to share a glimpse of my journey, one deeply intertwined with the vibrant fabric of Cleveland County.
In the late 1960s, I arrived in Cleveland County as a young boy. It was here that I completed my high school education at Crest, paving the way for my future endeavors. A scholarship beckoned, leading me to study Criminal Justice at Cleveland Community College. In the early 80s, I earned my BLET certification, marking the beginning of my service to the community.
I proudly joined the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department reserve unit, where I climbed the ranks, eventually attaining the esteemed position of captain. Since then, I’ve served under multiple sheriffs, my commitment unwavering.
In the early 80s, I honed my business acumen alongside my father at Cleveland Equipment Company. Equipped with knowledge and determination, I ventured out, establishing my own enterprise in the Cash Register and Office Equipment industry. Over the years, this venture evolved into a thriving credit card processing and software point of sale company, a testament to adaptability and perseverance.
Family, a cornerstone of my life, brings me immense pride. My daughter, now a nurse practitioner, and my son-in-law, an ER doctor, reside in Greenville, SC, blessing me with four beautiful grandchildren.
My dedication to Cleveland County extends beyond professional pursuits. I’ve actively contributed to our community’s growth by serving on the Board of Trustees at Cleveland Community College, being a Rotary Club Member and two-time Paul Harris Fellow, and co-founding BNI, a business networking initiative. My involvement in Elizabeth Baptist Church, spanning over three decades, has included teaching Sunday school and contributing to the church’s security team.
Recognition has come my way, including the prestigious Best of Cleveland County award for Business Solutions, a testament to the dedication I pour into my work. Additionally, I’ve been a steadfast member of the Cleveland County Chamber of Commerce.
Beyond my professional and community roles, I find joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether it’s spending serene moments at the lake, relishing quality time with my grandchildren, teeing off on the golf course, cruising on motorcycles, or cheering fervently at athletic events in Cleveland Community College, I embrace the richness of life.
In closing, Cleveland County isn’t just my home; it’s my heart. Through years of service, dedication, and community engagement, I’ve strived to make our county a better place. I am deeply honored to continue this journey alongside all of you, working hand in hand for a brighter, stronger community.
Thank you.
